We’ll be hosting 2 great speakers:
Dr. Sean Sagan is a Lecturer at Cal State University Long Beach where he teaches courses related to religion, religious diversity in America and new religious movements. Dr. Sagan will discuss the historical and contemporary relationship between white nationalism and evangelical religious culture on a national level, including the recent violent insurrection in our Capitol. He will also discuss its growing presence and Orange County and what we can do to stop it.
Katrina Foley is the current mayor of Costa Mesa and is running for Orange County’s 2nd Supervisorial District in a special election on March 9th.
At our meeting in May we will be announcing our 2021 club priorities based on your responses to our member interest survey. Thank you to everyone who participated!

We will also be hearing from Ann Beltran of Citizens Climate Lobby. Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy climate change organization focused on national policies to address climate change.
From the Citizen’s Climate Lobby Website:
“Our consistently respectful, nonpartisan approach to climate education is designed to create a broad, sustainable foundation for climate action across all geographic regions and political inclinations. By building upon shared values rather than partisan divides, and empowering our supporters to work in keeping with the concerns of their local communities, we work towards the adoption of fair, effective, and sustainable climate change solutions.
In order to generate the political will necessary for passage of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act we train and support volunteers to build relationships with elected officials, the media and their local community.”
